Juvenile History makers in Abbotstown

There was History in the making as the first Raheny Shamrock juvenile athletes ran the boards in the all new national indoor in Abbotstown.

And lots of medals were picked up by our athletes over Friday night and Saturday.

The under 19’s saw gold for Ailish Murtagh in the 1500 metre’s, silver medal for Matt Cotter in the Triple Jump with a new club record of 12.60 metres

Bronze medals went to Bill Oshafi in the triple jump with a best of 12.20 metres and to Ailbhe Finnegan in the 400 metres.

Katie Flanagan Walsh took bronze in the 60 metres, Katie has only recently joined us but is setting down her mark as a fantastic athlete to watch out for, her first outing on a track!

There was a fantastic fourth place finish for Aoibhinn McGoldrick in the 400 metres and a fifth place finish for Suzie O’Flynn in the same race.

At under 18 level, Daniel Beveridge took Shot Putt gold with a best of 11.56 metres. Silver went to Sean L’Estrange over 60 metres and Jamie Sheridan took bronze in the 400 metres.

Aisling Carroll took fifth place in the 60 metres.

At the highly competitive under 17 grade, Caoimhe Flynn finished fourth over 400 metres and Triona NicDhonaill fifth in the 400 metres.

At under 16 level Sean Flynn and Elly Ryan both finished fifth in their 1500 metre races.

Hannah Langan, Aoife Cosgrave, Grace Doherty all competed in the 60 metre under 12 races.

Under 18 Girls bronze Caoimhe Flynn, Aisling Carroll, Caoimhe Boylan, Sarah Tate

Under 17 Girls 5th Caoilfhinn Ni Bhroin, Triona Nic Dhonaill, Elly Ryan, Eabha Ni Choitir
