Le Cheile Meet & Weekend Road Wrap

At the Le Cheile International Meet on Saturday afternoon Lucy Barrett finished second in the B 1500 metres posting 2:21.75 just behind Lucan’s Sarah Reihill, winning in 2:19.60.

There was a large number of athlete’s taking part in the 800 metres with Brian Fay finishing sixth in 1:54.4 and Eoin Strutt eighth in 1:55.8. The race was won by Britain’s Jack Hallas in 1:50.3.

Daniel Scully took seventh place in the B race posting 2.00.7, the race being won by DSD’s Luke McCann in 1:55.1.

Will Walsh took second place in the E race posting 2:08.4 just a fraction of second behind Dunleer’s Anthony Connolly who clocked 2:08.0. Dave Grange finished eighth in 2:14.6.

On Sunday morning Freddy Sittuk won the Mullingar 10 mile in 54.02, 18 seconds clear of Tullamore Harriers Pauric Ennis. Declan Robinson posted 63 minutes 11 seconds.

At the Dunleer Four Mile Valerie Clinton clocked 33 minutes 55 seconds with Maeve Devlin posting 44 minutes 50 seconds.

On Thursday evening the Clonliffe Harriers Grand Prix saw another good turn out from Raheny athlete’s for their 1500 metre race.

Nicola Mooney was first cross the line in 5:40 followed by Jim Keogh 5:47, Mary Purdue-Smyth 6:30 and Dave Brady 7:24. All times were hand timed.

On the roads Graham O’Dwyer took 10th place in the Spar FitLive Run Series in the Phoenix Park posting 37 minutes 11 seconds. Fiona Stack posted 44:21.

In the 5K race John Clohissey finished 10th in 19 minutes with Martin Kelly posting 19:40 and Mieke Kiernan 25:47.

At the Irish Runner paced mile on Sunday Maeve Devlin posted 8:51.00.
