Ian Conroy and Des Kennedy landed individual medals at today World Master Mountain Running championships in Slovakia.
Conroy took over 35 bronze posting 39 minutes 33 seconds for the 9.6km course a race won by Zachary Freudenburg of the Netherlands in 38:42.
Conroy helped the Irish team to gold! With a total of 13 points. Eoin Flynn in fourth place and Brian Furey in sixth making up the Irish team.
Hosts Slovakia took silver a full 31 points behind the Irish team.
Des Kennedy struck gold in the over 45 category posting 40 minutes 30 seconds for victory, some 21 seconds clear of Italian Danilo Bosio.
The Irish team however missed out on a medal finish fourth with 51 points.
