This gave the junior shamrock women a total of 131 (according to Athletics Ireland) and silver medals ahead of Wicklow team Sli Cualann.
While DSD took gold with 43 points, making it 23 years in a row that Dundrum South Dublin have won the junior women’s title.
A well done to the Raheny junior women’s team, their team medals will be presented as soon as possible.
Editor Comment: It is very much both surprising and disappointing that the junior teams had to wait two days after their race was completed for the results to be confirmed.
Especially considering in 2009 when both the inter-club cross country championship and inter-country cross country championships were used as trial runs for the European Cross Country championships and all results were ready instantly.
The intervening eight years have seen huge advances in terms of race result technology, yet Athletics Ireland results service has regressed dramatically.
In that regard we ask Athletics Ireland to please ensure in 2018 that all individual and team, results and medals are provided and presented immediately after the race.
