A Bronze Laden University Statue

There were bronze medals galore for Raheny Shamrock athlete’s at the Irish University championships.

Orla Comerford of National College of Art & Design took 100 metre bronze posting 12.84 seconds.

UCD Aisling Drumgoole taking part in her final University track championship took 400 metre bronze in 56.11 and was part of the UCD 4x400m which also took bronze.

DCU’s Eoin Strutt took 1500 metre bronze posting 4:05.32 with Luke McCann of UCD taking gold in 4:03.06.

While DCU first year Brian Fay landed 5000 metre bronze in 15 minutes 25.76 just three seconds off gold which was won by UCD’s Darragh Fitzgibbon.

Conor Bermingham of Trinity College took bronze in the pole vault with a best jump of 3.80 metres.

Sean Dowling competed in the 400 metre heats, while Blaithin Sheil set new personal best of 4:56.78.
