North Leinster Schools Day Two Success

Day two of the north Leinster track and field schools championships saw Raheny athlete’s collect 10 gold medals, four silver and three bronze.

The gold medals went to Holy Faith Clontarf trio Aoibhinn McGoldrick in the senior 800 metres, Ailish Murtagh in the senior 3,000 metres and Emma O’Boyle Minor 800 metres.

St. Fintan’s high school Sutton trio Glenn Atkins Senior 400 metres hurdles, Michael Farrelly Intermediate 200 metres and Aedan L’Estrange in the junior discus.

St.David’s CBS Artane’s Daniel Beveridge took senior discus gold and Kevin Byrne of St.Paul’s Raheny in the senior high jump.

While five Raheny athletes representing Gaelcholaiste Reachrann took gold in the senior 4X300 relays, the team was Caelinn ni Bhrion, Dearbhle Sheppard, Caoimhe Boylan, Aisling Carrol and Triona ni Dhonail.

There was also gold for St.David’s Artane’s Sean Maher in the intermediate hammer with a personal best of  65 metres.

Silver medals went to Gaelcholaiste Reachrann’s Triona Nic Dhonaill in the senior 3,000 metres, Sutton Park’s Kim O’Hare in the senior 200 metres and Sean L’Estrange of St. Fintan’s high school Sutton in the Intermediate 200 metres.

Caoimhe Flynn of Gaelcholaiste Reachrann’s took silver in the senior 400 metres.

Bronze medals were won by Gaelcholaiste Reachrann’s Aisling Carroll in the senior 200 metres, Conall O’Toole of Scoil Chaitriona in the senior 200 metres and James Hyland of St. Fintan’s high school Sutton intermediate 3000 metres.

Others who competed were Jamie Sheridan of St. David’s CBS, Sean Barrett of St. Paul’s, Sean Flynn of Sutton Park and Deirbhile Sheppard.
