The 2018 All-Ireland schools track and field championship saw Raheny Shamrock athlete’s collect two gold, three silver and a bronze medal.
St. Fintan’s High School Sutton Michael Farrelly took 200 metre gold and 100 metre silver in the intermediate boy’s grade. Sean L’Estrange made it a Fintan’s 1-2 in the 200 metres taking silver.
Sean Maher throw of 55.48 metres grabbed gold in the Intermediate hammer for the St.David’s Artane man with Belvedere College’s Hugh Flood taking bronze.
There was further success for Holy Faith Clontarf’s Aoibhinn McGoldrick in the senior steeplechase as McGoldrick took silver.
Daniel Beveridge of St.David’s CBS was just outside the medal taking fourth place in the senior discus. As were James Hyland of St.Fintan’s Sutton fifth in the Intermediate boys steeplechase and Kim O’Hare of Sutton Park, fifth in the senior triple jump.
Triona NicDhonaill of Scoil Reachrainn took seventh in the senior girls 3,000 metres with Amy O’Boyle competing in the 800 meters with Belvedre College pair Fionn McGraine in the triple jump andScott Meaney in the long jump competing well.
While Laura Fallon of Scoil Dara Kilcock finished fifth in the senior girls pole vault.
The St.Fintan’s High School team including Michael Farrelly, Sean L’Estrange and James Hyland finished second team overall in the intermediate boys, just 10 points behind Belvedere College.
