Kim O’Hare and Conor Birmingham both landed silver at the junior and under-23 national championships on Saturday afternoon.
Kim O’Hare took silver in the junior women’s triple jump with a best of 10.96 metres, the event was won by Waterford’s Emily O’Mahony with a best of 11.13 metres.
Conor Bermingham took silver in the under-23 Pole vault with a best of 4.10 metres, just 10 centimetres behind West Waterford’s Yuri Kanash who took gold.
Shane Power of St. Joseph’s A.C and Bermingham could not be separated in the tussle for silver with both men posting 4.10 metres.
Orla Comerford took bronze in the under-23 100 metres posted 12.59 seconds. The race was won out by DSD’s Kate Doherty in 12.06 seconds, with Roisin Harrison second in 12.20 seconds.
Comerford then finished fourth in the 200 metres posting 26.42 seconds.
Elsewhere Sean Dowling took seventh place in the under-23 400 metre final posting 52.44 seconds, having posted 55.66 in his heat.
Meanwhile Dylan Kirwan posted 59.39 seconds in the under-23 100 metres.
While Andrew Hyland took eighth place in the junior 1500 metres posting 4:25.88. Matthew Cotter took seventh place in the long jump with a best of 6.28 metres.
