Christmas Day Goal Mile

Raheny Shamrock host the Goal Christmas Day Mile on Christmas Morning in St. Anne’s Park.

The race begins at 11am, starting at the Sybill Hill entrance to the Main Avenue, finishing at the top of the avenue, where the mansion once stood.

The race is open to all, we encourage all ages and standard to run or walk. While there is no entry fee, we ask all participants to please make a donation to goal.

Collectors for Goal will be available to collect donations at the start and finish line’s.

For the 60th year in a-row Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club will host a Christmas day race event and in the history of our club we have some special prizes, which have become synopsis with Christmas Day.

The Billy Peppard Cup – First male athlete.

The Sean Giblin Cup – First female athlete.

The Shamrock Trophy – First Junior male

The Noel Power Cup – First Junior female

The McDermott Cup – First Juvenile

The Brian McLaughlin Cup – Predicted Time

The Freddy Fox Cup – First Parent and Child

“We are very proud to once again partner with Goal for the 2019 Goal Christmas Day Mile” explained Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club P.R.O Dave Hooper.

“Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club have organised a Christmas Day race or run since our very first Christmas in 1958, which enshrined our home in Raheny and the surrounding community.”

“In 1972 the club set-up base with our ‘race down the avenue’ in St. Anne’s Park, which has become a great meeting point and competitive race, enhanced by the donation of trophies from families who have made such an ever-lasting contribution to our club.”

“We have partnered with Goal since 2001 and are proud to support the work that Goal contribute to the third World.”

“We look forward to welcoming everyone on Christmas Day and hope all members and friends of Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club have an enjoyable Christmas and Happy New Year.”
