Weekend Round-Up 3 March

On Sunday morning, Shay Neary, Brighid Smyth and Tommy Crampton competed in the Tokyo marathon, meaning they have now completed the World Marathon major competition.

Meanwhile, Mick Clohisey won the Lusk four mile in very poor conditions on Sunday, winning out in 19 minutes 16 seconds, 16 seconds clear of Clonliffe’s Noel Guiden.

In the women’s race Ailish Murtagh finished second in 24:28, leading the women’s team of Lucy Barrett (24:40), Zoe Quinn (24:51) and Elaine McNulty 27:19 won gold.

The men’s team of Clohisey, Ken Shannon 23:51, David Sheehy 24:07 and Alan O’Flynn 24:16 took second place behind hosts Lusk in the team race.
