Brian Fay finished 11th in the European Under-23 steeplechase final in Glave on Sunday posting 8:56.22.
Germany’s Frederik Ruppert won gold in eight minutes 44.49 seconds with silver going to Alexis Phelut of France in 8:45.09 and Sweden’s Simon Sundstrom taking bronze in 8:45.82.
Very impressive running from Brian Fay between his semi-final on Friday and finish inside 10 seconds outside the top five.

On Saturday evening Mark Smyth posted 21.71 seconds for eighth in his semi-final another impressive performance for Smyth who was less than a second outside the race winner.
Smyth set a new personal best in his heat on Friday of 21.29 seconds and importantly will be elidigible for these championships in Bergen, Norway.
