Leinster Women’s Novice Gold

Lucy Barrett took bronze and led the Raheny Shamrock women’s team home to gold at the Leinster Novice gold.

Barrett was just 30 seconds behind gold medallist Claire Fagan of Mullingar Harriers with UCD’s Rose Finnegan taking silver.

Sarah Quigley came home in ninth place with Niamh Corbett 11th and Ailis Murtagh 16th to give the women’s team 39 points and gold.

For the record Mullingar Harriers took silver with 58 points with Rathfarnham WSAF taking bronze with 92 points.

The non-scoring team members were Orla Manley 18th, Zoe Quinn 28th, Orla Gilheaney 38th, Jenny Colbert 57th, Helen Carr 59th and Orla Lambe 62nd.

The Men’s team finished in fifth place just off eight points off bronze.

Tom McEnery was the first Raheny man home in 18th place with David Kirwin 29th, Brian Sexton 41st, Ian McConkey 43rd, Stephen Butler 44th, Wes Grant 67th and Will Walsh 72nd.

The junior men’s team of Luke Murphy (17th), Adam Condon (20th), Dara MaRiocaird (34th) and Sean Flynn (41st) finished fourth in the team competition. Aaron Tansey finished 50th.
