Kay Bannon’s women’s track and field team wrapped a silver lining around the AIT Arena as they took silver in the National Indoor League.
Over the two rounds Bannon’s women came second with a total of 100 points, 25 behind winners Dublin City Harriers, and eight points ahead of bronze medallist Galway City Harriers.
Maximum points (13) was scored by Tara Meirs (60m Hurdles), Valentina Marzarc (Shot Putt) and Kim O’Hare (Long Jump and Triple Jump)
Aoibhinn McGoldrick took 10 points in the 1500m and nine in the 800m. Tara Meirs collected seven points in the 200m.
Kim O’Hare (60m) and Helen Buckley (High Jump) collected five points each while four points were collected by Lucy Barrett in 400 and the 4x200m relay.
Mick Hynes men’s team finished took fifth place over with 60.5 points. Maximum points (10) were scored by Cillian Kirwan in the 800m and Matt Cotter in Triple Jump.
Sean O’Driscoll collected 7.5 points in the 60m and Conor Bermingham took seven points in the pole vault, Matt Cotter collected five points in the Long Jump and the High Jump.
Dylan Kirwan collected four points in the 400m, Conaill O’Toole in the 200m and Mick Hynes in the Shot Putt and the 4x200m relay team (Oisin McCorry, Dylan Kirwan, Mark Smith and Sergio Martinez).
