Wind and Mud at Wesley College

The inaugural four-mile combined BHAA cross country race organised by the central bank under the directorship of Robbie Beggs took place today Saturday 22 February.

Robbie and the team at Central bank under the guidance of the BHAA delivered a 4-lap course around the football pitches at Wesley College.

The course gave the runners twists and turns and some challenging under foot conditions with some mud and slop thrown in for good measure.

The race upfront proved to be an exciting finishing battle between George Snee, Sean Doran and Eoin Healy with George Snee taking the win on the line over Sean Doran. From a club perspective Des Kennedy took 5th place overall and outright winner in the over 50 category.

Also competing was Dave Gargan 99th, Jenny Colbert 123th, Colm Gormley 126th, Rachel Ormrod 144th, Ann Marie Gargan 158th, June Comiskey 165th and second over 70.

Best of luck to all club athletes running in Seville Marathon tomorrow 23rd of February.
