In these strange and challenging times good news is something we welcome.
On Friday night RTÉ news ran an item on a medical device company in Galway has designed a new system to enable two patients to be treated safely from one ventilator.
The Inspire Team, based at NUIG, is hoping the system can be replicated globally as an emergency response to ventilator shortages.
One of their members was our own Jack Connolly, the report is available below.

Congratulations and best wishes to Jack and his team members.
We also ask all our members to take part in the “Shine Your Light” National initiative that is calling on our communities everywhere to shine a light this Saturday, 11th April at 9pm to create a moment of solidarity in our battle against the Covid 19 pandemic.
We are asking everyone to ‘Shine Your light’ for all the people who are sick, for those who have lost their lives and their loved ones.
Shine a light for our frontline staff, our healthcare workers, and the people who are keeping us going through these dark times.
Best wishes to all our members and friends working in the front line and please play your part by staying at home.
