Club Statement – Covid-19 Update

Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club note the announcement of An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the extension of measures in relation to Covid-19 until May 18.

We also welcome the publication of the governments “Roadmap for reopening society & business” and the plans for a return to sporting activities.

While we welcome the proposed date of June eighth for a return to small group training (Phase two of plan), the club are awaiting more detailed instructions and guidance from the HSE which will be delivered to the club via Athletics Ireland and Sport Ireland in due course.

Once these instructions are communicated to the club, this will be distributed to members.

In this regard the club fixture list will be re-drawn for 2020, when guidelines have being received, with the aim of completing the winter league and fulfilling the postponed Battle of Clontarf 10 and Brian Holland Cup.

Regarding fixtures organised outside the club please note;

All Schools Track & Field events for this season have been cancelled.

Athletics Leinster have cancelled all events for May and June.

Dublin Athletics have cancelled the opening rounds of the Graded Series and Juvenile Track & Field League (will bring more updates on this when available).

The KBC Dublin Race Series: the Fingal 4 Mile and South Dublin 10k have been re-scheduled to October 11th and November 29th.

When further information is available the club will post a further update.

Please stay safe and adhere to the HSE guidelines.
