On Sunday, Brian Fay set a new club 3,000m indoor record when he won the Val de Reuil meeting in Normandy France in 7:53.62.
Bastien Augusto took second place in 8:13.86, showing Fay’s excellent form in taking a win in race against a mainly French field.
Fay’s time was nine seconds faster than Kevin Dooney’s previous club record set in Boston in 2014. The time is also a qualification standard for next month’s European indoor championship.
Iseult O’Donnell set a new personal best posting 2:04.61 in the 800m b race at the Metz meet on Saturday night.
