There were silver medals for both ladies and men’s Novice teams at the Dublin XC today in Phoenix Park. Tara Kennedy Monks was the ladies first scorer in 7th, with Laura Brennan 9th, Orla Manley 14th and Catriona Costello 31st. Other finishers were Mary Walsh 32nd, Adrienne Atkins 34th, Aileen Byrne 55th, Deirbhlie O’Keeffe 66th, Senate O’Keeffe 68th, Anne Marie Gargan 69th, Irene Walsh 71st, Sinead Loftus 72nd, Eimear O’Keeffe 73rd.
Ciaran McCarthy was the men’s first scorer in 5th, followed by Dave Kirwin in 7th, Wes O’Brien 16th and Rory O’Sullivan in 18th. Other finishers were Carl Conrpy 37th, Ian McConkey 38th, Colm Delaney 40th, John Clarke 46th, Brian Kelly 68th, Sean Honan 84th. Also well done to all the juvenile athletes who donned the green of Raheny and raced earlier in the day as part of the Dublin Juvenile League.
Ian Conroy won the Dublin Simon fun run in 25:50 with Simon Ryan second in 26:20. Other finishers were Colm Delaney 29:04 and Paul Conroy 32:53. Freddy Sittuk won the Galway Bay 10km in 31:18 with Conor Dooney second in 31:25. Freddy was also second in the Firefly 5k in 14:25.
