Kieran Kelly has received his first senior international call up for the Great Edinburgh Cross Country on Saturday.
Kelly is part of the mixed relay team which includes Ciara Mageean (UCD), Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle & District) and John Travers (Donore Harriers).
Mixed relay is a relatively new event in cross country running and has been added to the programme for the World and European Cross Country Championships from this year onwards.
Each athlete run’s a one kilometre lap, the team line up can be set in any combination.
Ireland will line up against Great Britain, England, Wales, Northern Ireland and a Scotland and Scotland B selection.
The event is live on BBC 1 on Saturday, coverage starting from 1:15pm.
