Kearney sets new club 1500m record

Niamh Kearney set a new club 1500m record at the Irish Milers club meeting in Belfast today rewriting the oldest club record. Kearney clocked four minutes 19.92 seconds for second place behind Carla Sweeney of Rathfarnham who clocked 4:17.57. Brian Fay sets new club steeplechase record

Brian Fay set a new 3,000m club steeplechase record of 8:33.93 when he won out at the Manchester invitational meet on Thursday night. Fay had some six seconds to spare on Britain’s Daniel Jarvis with Matthew Hughes of Canada in third place clocking 8:45.01. Fay who ran in the European indoor championships in March, is looking likely to have a blistering summer.
