Brian Fay moved to fourth in the Irish all-time mile indoor records when he posted 3:52.03 finishing second at the Dempsey indoor meet.
Fay’s time ranks as the fastest time by an Irishman – indoors or out – since Mark Carroll’s 3:50.62 in 2000.
The National indoor Record stands at 3:49.78 and was set by Eamonn Coghlan in 1983. Marcus O’Sullivan is second on the list with 3:50.94 set in 1988 with Ray Flynn third in 3:51.20 set in 1983.
