Bermingham Vaults to Bronze

Conor Bermingham vaulted to bronze at the new National Indoor Arena during the Irish Life Health National Indoor Arena.

Bermingham’s best of four metres 30 secured bronze behind West Waterford’s Thomas Houlihan who vaulted to four metres 55 and a best from Peter Glass to vaulted to 4.45.

The medal is just reward for Bermingham who has been working hard throughout the winter months and adds a national indoor medal to his collection.

Meanwhile Cillian Kirwan, Kieran Kelly and Daniel Scully progressed to the final of the 1500 meters and 800 metres respectably having come through their heats.

Kirwan placed second in his heat clocking one minute 56.57 seconds finishing ahead of Paul Robinson while Kelly won the first 800 metre heat in 1:56.57 seconds. Scully clocked 1:58.10 for fifth place and progresses to the 800 metre final.

The three men go in final’s tomorrow (Sunday) in the new National Indoor Arena in Abbostown with the 800 metre final due at 2.40pm and the 1500 metre off at 1:15.

Eoin Strutt and Eoin O’Dwyer are both entered in the 3,000 metres which will be ran off personal bests with the racing getting underway at noon.

Tickets are still available as they deserve as much Raheny Shamrock support as possible.

Holly Ryan proudly wore the green and white singlet to finish third in her 400 metre heat clocking 61.63 seconds and then finished her 200 metre heat in 26.92.

Sean Dowling finished fourth in his 400m heat clocking 51.97 seconds while Liam Sheehan posted 24.44 seconds in heat one of the 200 metres.
