Ian Conroy finished 50th in the World Mountain Running championship in Premana, Italy on Sunday, posting 63 minutes 47 seconds
Conroy was second Irish man home just three places behind Clonliffe’s Brian MacMahon. Zak Hanna finished in 53rd place to give Ireland 150 points and finish in 14 place overall.
The race was won by Uganda’s Victor Kiplangat who also helped Uganda to gold ahead of Italy and USA.
The Irish women’s team finished eighth of 15 teams while the Irish junior men’s side finished in 11th position. There was no Raheny Shamrock athlete’s on either team.
