Niamh Fogarty set a new discus club record when competing for Ireland at the European Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal today.
Fogarty finished fourth in the B final with a best effort of 55 metres 17cm, bettering her previous record of 53.95 which was set in 2022.
Fogarty had thrown 52.82, 51.06 and 52.70 on attempts one, two and four. Fogarty passed on attempts three and five before setting a huge new personal best.
The final was won by Helena Leveelathi of Finland with a best of 55:34.
