Mick Clohisey took second place in the Terenure Five mile just one second behind Peter Somba. Raheny at the Irish Milers Club

The track and field season got into full season this with the first Irish Milers Club race taking place in Greystones. The features race, the Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club sponsored 5,000 metres went to Darlington Harriers Lewis Moses in 14 minutes 2.88 seconds.
