Sunday\u2019s AXA Raheny 5 will follow the same course used for 2016 which is outlined below.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course changed in 2016 due to road works on the Clontarf Road. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although these works are now complete, we have determined the new configuration of the Clontarf Road is not fit for purpose to our road race.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the 2016 event which encompassed St. Anne\u2019s Park, the race director and committee decided to continue with this route.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a very small change of approximately 100 metres in St. Anne\u2019s Park from the 2016 course.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first three miles of the course\u00a0continue the traditional AXA Raheny 5 route, starting on All Saints Park, then turning left onto All Saints Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

The race then moves left onto Watermill Drive toward Raheny village at that point turning left onto the Howth Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

The race moves down the Howth Road for just over one mile before turning left onto Sybill Hill and towards the two mile marker.<\/span><\/p>\n

We then turn left onto Mount Prospect Avenue with St. Anne\u2019s Park on the left hand side and move past the three mile marker, then moving into St.Anne\u2019s Park.<\/span><\/p>\n

The race moves through St. Anne\u2019s Park taking a loop down the main avenue as highlighted below via the blue arrows and returning onto All Saints Park turning left into the final 900 metres.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a right hand turn up Wade\u2019s Avenue onto the back straight followed by two further right turns onto the home straight and the race finish.<\/span><\/p>\n

Motorists are reminded to expect delays around Raheny Village between 2.30pm and 4pm on Sunday January 29th<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n
