Kieran Kelly set a new club record for the indoor 1500 metre on Sunday afternoon at the new national indoor arena in Abbottstown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daire Bermingham had lowered his own standard last Saturday night to 3:52.24, however Kelly has now improved on that mark.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kelly clocked three minutes 47.63 seconds finishing second to John Travers in Abbotstown, a near five second improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The mark is just four seconds outside the qualifying standard for next month\u2019s European Indoor Championships in Belgrade.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the same race Cillian Kirwan posted three minutes 56.81 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were a number of Raheny athlete\u2019s getting their first taste of the new Abbotstown Arena, the first of which was Lucy Barrett who clocked 11:06.10 for 3,000 metres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daniel Scully posted one minute 59.31 seconds for the 800 while Iseult O\u2019Donnell clocked 58.95 seconds for the two lapped 400 metres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dylan Kirwan clocked 55:30 seconds for the same event.<\/span><\/p>\n
