It was double trouble from the master\u2019s men as they landed both the Over 35 and Over 50 National titles in Waterford today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The reigning national senior cross country champions cemented their place as Ireland\u2019s best cross country club as they added both masters titles to their trophy room.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ian Conroy was the first Raheny man home in fourth place overall, securing the bronze medal in the over 35 category.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Conroy fourth, Des Kennedy 13th overall, David Kirwin 19th<\/span><\/sup> and Ciaran McCarthy 36th,\u00a0<\/span><\/sup>giving the over 35 men a total of 72 points and gold, 21 points clear of silver medallist\u2019s North Sligo with East Cork taking bronze.<\/span><\/p>\n

The over 50 team was led home by Damien Martin in 40th<\/span><\/sup> position overall, with Mick Traynor 56th<\/span><\/sup>, Brian Kelly 126th and Tom Loftus 151st giving the team a total of 383 points,\u00a018 points clear of Tullamore Harriers with United Striders taking bronze.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was another fantastic day for the Shamrock\u2019s as both men\u2019s teams competed a clean sweep of Dublin, Leinster and All Ireland titles, meaning senior and both masters cross country titles all reside in Raheny.<\/span><\/p>\n

However there was heart break for the women\u2019s over 50 master\u2019s team who just missed out to Mayo A.C for the bronze medal. The team was Orla Gormley, Adrienne Atkins, Nora Byrne and Caroline Farrelly.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the masters over 35 team of Annette Kealy, Jenny Mulry, Sarah Quigley and Lorraine Byrne finished in a very credible\u00a0eighth place overall.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Raheny women who competed in the cold and mud,\u00a0placed their categories were;<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 35. 13. Jenny Mulry, 15. Sarah Quigley<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 40. 37. Mary Walsh, 45. Fiona Drew<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 45. 5. Annette Kealy, 16. Lorraine Byrne, 23. Jenny Colbert<\/span><\/p>\n

Over 50. 5. Orla Gormley, 13. Adrienne Atkins, 18.Nora Byrne, 22.Caroline Farrelly, 30.Una Cherry<\/span><\/p>\n
