Raheny Shamrock PRO Dave Hooper has produced a fascinating documentary called History of Irish Marathon Running which will be broadcast on Tuesday next, May 30th at 6pm on Near FM 90.3.<\/p>\n

Dave has worked on this ambitious project for the last two years and the result is a fascinating hour-long documentary featuring interviews with some of the legendary figures of Irish marathon running including John Treacy, Jerry Kiernan, Catherina McKiernan and of course Raheny Shamrock\u2019s two famous marathoners and Olympians, Pat and Dick Hooper.<\/p>\n

Legendary broadcaster Jimmy Magee provided additional narration for the programme which provides a fascinating inside into the history of Irish marathon running in recent decades.<\/p>\n

Raheny Shamrock were delighted to partner with Near FM and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland for this project, the very first radio documentary on Irish Athletics.<\/p>\n

There are a number of Raheny Shamrock voices included in the documentary.<\/p>\n
