Mark Smyth has been selected as part of the Irish team to compete in the 2017 European under 20 Championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smyth will compete over 200 metres, having ran the qualifying B standard late last year and will also be part of the 4 x 100 metre relay team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smyth made his senior international debut last month as part of the 4 x 100 metre relay team in the European Team Championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 200 metres heats are scheduled for Friday July 21 in Grosseto, Italy with the semi-final and heats scheduled for the Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 4×100 metre relay heats and final are scheduled for Sunday July 23.<\/span><\/p>\n

The other members of the 4 x 100 metre relay team are David Murphy (Gowran), Cillin Greene (Galway City Harriers) and Jack Manning (Kilkenny City Harriers).<\/span><\/p>\n

We also note with some interest that per Athletics Ireland official release they have once again got the name of our club incorrect.<\/span><\/p>\n
