{"id":1860,"date":"2017-07-13T13:14:32","date_gmt":"2017-07-13T13:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=1860"},"modified":"2017-07-13T14:22:33","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T14:22:33","slug":"kelly-sets-new-club-mark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=1860","title":{"rendered":"Kelly Sets New Club Mile Mark"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Kieran Kelly broke the club Mile record at the Morton Games International and came agonizingly close to breaking the Four Minute Barrier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Kelly was on course to become the first Raheny Shamrock athlete to ever break the four minute mark though missed out by a split hair, posting 4:00.70.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The time a personal best for Kelly broke the club\u2019s mile record held by Kevin Moriarty of 4:08.13 which was set in nine years ago on the same track.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">As part of the Morton Mile the organisers allowed for a 1500 metre split where Kelly also broke his own club record passing the marker in 3:42.91.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The moment was captured on video by John Cronin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kieran Kelly Morton Mile\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_PPECoA64_M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Elsewhere Eoin Strutt took third place in the IMC v BMC 1500 metres posting 3.50.22. The race was won by BMC\u2019s Jack Hallas in 3:49.18, Brian Fay posting 4:00.17 in the same race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Daniel Scully posted 1:58.15 in the IMC B race with Sean O\u2019Driscoll posted 11.05 seconds in the 100 metre heats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">While Aoibhinn McGoldrick clocked a new personal best of 2:17.00 in the IMC Women\u2019s 800 B race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Andrew Hyland clocked four minutes and 40 seconds in the junior mile, the race was won by Luke McCann in 4:21.70.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Kevin Dooney was the first of Raheny quartet home in the 5,000 metres clocking 14 minutes 21.05 seconds just ahead of Mick Clohisey in 14:12.82.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Daire Bermingham posted 14:21.05 while winner Australia\u2019s Stewart McSweyn broke Eamon Coghlan\u2019s 37-year-old stadium record winning in 13:19.98.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button synved-social-button-share
