{"id":1929,"date":"2017-07-25T22:06:41","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T22:06:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=1929"},"modified":"2017-07-25T22:06:41","modified_gmt":"2017-07-25T22:06:41","slug":"kennedy-shoots-to-peter-doody-2-mile-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=1929","title":{"rendered":"Kennedy Shoots to Peter Doody 2 Mile Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Des Kennedy blasted his way around the Peter Doody 2 Mile road race with a fast victory on a mild at times windy night.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy posted 10 minutes 22 seconds after a very fast opening lap with Damien Martin taking second place some 19 seconds behind Kennedy.<\/p>\n<p>Eamon Traynor picked up third place in a time of 11 minutes six seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Zoey Quinn continued her winning run in the women\u2019s race in a sprightly 11 minutes 45 seconds finishing the race in eighth place overall.<\/p>\n<p>Jenny Mulry took second place in a sharp finishing 12 minutes 20 seconds with Anne Marie Woods just three seconds behind taking third place.<\/p>\n<p>This was the 14<sup>th<\/sup> running of the Peter Doody Two Mile race, Peter a loyal and beloved club member was killed while away in Spain with Drumcondra F.C in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>It was nice to see so many of Peter\u2019s friends including but not limited to Mick Traynor, Mick Martin and Dave Woods, competing and in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The memorial was unfortunately overshadowed by the sudden death of Johnny Fennell on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>As such the pre-race formalities are below, via our YouTube channel.
