Mick Clohisey is ready to go as he represents Ireland in the World Athletics Championship Marathon in London tomorrow morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clohisey becomes the second Raheny Shamrock athlete to compete in the World Championships following on from hammer thrower Paddy McGrath in Seville 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to represent the country and the Shamrocks on the World stage\u201d Clohiesy told rahenyshamrock.ie.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m hoping to put in a strong performance and get my marathon racing back on track after a few under par performances.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve learned a lot about the distance and how to respect it\u201d added Clohisey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clohisey joins Paddy McGrath as the only Raheny Shamrock athlete\u2019s to compete in the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sprint coach Paddy Fay, the club\u2019s first juvenile member was also coach to the Irish team at the World Championships in 1997, 1999, 2001 and 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n

The very best wishes to Mick Clohisey who is coached by Dick Hooper.\u00a0Clohisey will be joined on the start line by Rathfarnham\u2019s Sean Hehir another athlete coached by Dick Hooper.<\/span><\/p>\n

The race begins at 10:55am and is broadcast as part of the World Championship coverage by BBC and Eurosport.<\/span><\/p>\n
