Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club chairperson Anne Buckley is to retire and will not be seeking re-election to the position at the upcoming AGM.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe after a very fulfilling number of years as chairperson that the time is now right to step aside and allow a new person lead the club\u201d explained Buckley.<\/p>\n

Buckley was elected chairperson in 2003 and has served in that role for the past 14 years, an era of unprecedented success to the club.<\/p>\n

Previously Buckley served as club Juvenile director a role undertaken in 1994, setting the very cornerstone of the club\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s been a privilege to work with all those athlete\u2019s, officials, coaches and people who helped out over the years\u201d explained Buckley.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been great work done by a number of people over the years and I believe the club is now in a fantastic position to represent the people of Raheny on the national and international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

While a club officer Anne Buckley represented the club at Dublin Athletic Board, BLOE, BLE and Athletics Ireland level.<\/p>\n
