{"id":2170,"date":"2017-10-01T21:52:17","date_gmt":"2017-10-01T21:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=2170"},"modified":"2017-10-03T00:57:47","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T00:57:47","slug":"strutting-to-dublin-novice-gold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=2170","title":{"rendered":"Strutting to Dublin Novice Gold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Eoin Strutt landed the men\u2019s Dublin Novice for 2017 title\u00a0while Niamh Corry led the women\u2019s team home to Gold in the Phoenix Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The traditional opener of the cross country season, the Dublin Novice saw Raheny Shamrock pick up where they left off, having won the National Cross Country League in 2016\/17.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Niamh Corry was the first woman home in third place and was followed by Zoe Quinn, Iseut O\u2019Donnell and Captain Orla Manley as the Raheny women took gold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The final results saw Corry third, Zoe Quinn fifth, Isueult O&#8217;Donnell seventh and Orla Manley 11th giving the women&#8217;s team 26 points well clear of Crusaders who mustered 55 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Also running were Laura Brennan 13th, Aisling Ahern 43rd, Deirbhile O&#8217;Keefe 61st, Eimear O&#8217;Keefe 67th, Orla Lambe 70th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Eoin Strutt then got his season off to a flyer winning the men\u2019s race and leading the men\u2019s team of Rory O\u2019Sullivan, Will Walsh and Graham O\u2019Dwyer to bronze.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">The final result saw Strutt first, Rory O&#8217;Sullivan 14th, Will Walsh 17th and Graham O&#8217;Dwyer 23rd giving the men a total of 55 points just one point behind Donore Harriers with Crusaders taking gold with 23 points. Patrick Santini finished 79th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">A very impressive performance particularly as the Raheny team was just five strong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">In the Dublin juvenile league Adam Condon was second under 15 and Sean Flynn was second under 16, a flying start to the season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Elsewhere Mick Clohisey finished 14<sup><span style=\"font-size: small;\">th<\/span><\/sup> in the Cardiff half marathon
