On a glorious day with perfect cross country running conditions saw many of our juvenile members, don their school running singlet to participate in the Dublin City Council\/Athletics Ireland North Dublin cross country.<\/p>\n

Raheny Shamrock athletes were very prevalent in all age categories. Ali McElhinney produced a gun to tape performance in the sixth class girl\u2019s race, were over 90 competed.<\/p>\n

Ali didn\u2019t pick up her running off the ground, her grandfather John McElhinney has done every Dublin City marathon since its inception.<\/p>\n

The winner of the third class age group was Emily Keogh, daughter of our juvenile lead coach. Louise (Emily\u2019s mother) was a very prominent athlete of Ayrfield AC as a juvenile with coaches Ned Twohig and John Davis leading her through her endeavours.<\/p>\n

Scoil Aine and St. Vincent de Paul, Griffith Avenue tied for the best girl\u2019s school prize with newcomers Star of the Sea and Ringsend claiming best overall boys schools, closely followed by Scoil Mhire, Howth only one point behind.<\/p>\n

Well done to all runners who took part over the day.<\/p>\n
