Sean O\u2019Driscoll landed under 23 national indoor gold in the 60 metre dash in Athlone I.T.<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Driscoll won the opening heat of the day in a cool 7.19 seconds around 10.30 on Sunday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some two and a half hours later O\u2019Driscoll was back on the track, this time putting the serious burners on to win in 7.03 seconds, .14 of a second clear of Emerald\u2019s Paul Costelloe.<\/span><\/p>\n

An impressive turn of speed from O\u2019Driscoll who will look to transfer the performance to the senior championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Kim O\u2019Hare took silver in the junior women\u2019s triple jump with a best of jump of 11.03 metres which was achieved on her fifth attempt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tullamore Harriers Jana Joha took gold jumping just five centimetres higher than O\u2019Hare. O’Hare’s jump of 11.03 set a new club indoor record.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile Orla Comerford placed fourth in heat one of the under 23 60 metre race posting 8.05 seconds. Comerford then posted 26.62 for fifth place in heat one of the 200 metres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Almost two years to the day since picking up a serious injury at the same championships, Hannah Byrne returned to competitive action.<\/span><\/p>\n

Byrne missed out on a bronze medal in the 400 metre’s by just 2\/10\u2019s of a second, finishing fourth in 61.46 seconds. Great to see Hannah back after\u00a0such a serious injury.<\/span><\/p>\n
