The final weekend of cross-country action in the 2017\/18 ran its traditional climax as both the All-Ireland schools and IUAA cross country championships took place.<\/p>\n

Blaithin Sheil helped Trinity College to bronze at the IUAA Cross Country championship, hosted by Trinity College.<\/p>\n

Niamh Corry raced to 12th<\/sup> place and a non-scoring member of the gold medal winning DCU team. Blaithin Sheil took 20th place and helped Trinity College to bronze with Iseult O\u2019Donnell 28th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

At the All-Ireland schools cross country championship taking place in Waterford, James Connell of St. Pauls Raheny finished 16th<\/sup> in the junior boys race.<\/p>\n

Sean Barrett of St. Pauls Raheny finished 40th<\/sup> in the intermediate race.<\/p>\n

In the senior girls race Holy Faith Clontarf\u2019s Ailish Murtagh took 20th<\/sup> place and Aiobihnn McGoldrick 38th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

A well done to all on completing the cross country season, the track season is not far away for these scholars.<\/p>\n

Editor comment:<\/strong> The question not only has to be asked, but should also be resolved as to why the Irish Schools Athletics Association and the Irish University Athletics Association cannot hold their competition in the same venue.<\/p>\n
