Following on from a successful All-Ireland schools track and field championships, this is a beginning of a series looking closer at the success stories of the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

St. Fintan\u2019s High School celebrate medals at All-Ireland Schools<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A St. Fintan\u2019s 1-2 in the 200 metres was the highlight of the day at the All-Ireland Schools track and field championship In Tullamore.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Farrelly took gold 22.26 seconds with Sean L\u2019Estrange second in 22.34, a new personal best.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was a magnificent achievement for the Michael and Sean who are friends, training partners, fellow school mates and club-mates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only did Michael win the 200, but earlier, he took 100 metre silver, posting a personal best of 10.99 seconds to break that 11 second barrier.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was following a throat infection earlier in the week. When they say you should never run when on antibiotics, but Michael didn\u2019t read that script.<\/span><\/p>\n

The boys\u2019 achievements, together with that of James Hyland in the steeplechase secured helped St Fintan\u2019s to second place in the Intermediate category, which was won by Belvedere College.<\/span><\/p>\n

James was fifth in the Steeplechase, posting a PB of four minutes 42.51 seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n
