The 2019 Lord Mayor of Raheny Road Race series was launched in Raheny today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series of 13 \u201cTwo Mile\u201d road races begins on Tuesday June 11 and runs every Tuesday until September 3rd<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n

All races start at 8pm on the Wades Avenue \/ Watermill drive course, a course which is used for the National Road Relay championships.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series first competed in 1999 has grown year-on-year and now sees runner\u2019s of all age and abilities compete.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series includes a number of special memorial races including the \u201cTommy Lynam Mid-Summer race\u201d which takes place on Tuesday June 18h.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tommy Lynam was President of Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club from 2003 to his passing in 2008 and represented the club as an athlete for some 20 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Peter Doody memorial Two Mile takes its now traditional place in the calendar, Peter tragically passed away in Spain in 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the John Fennell memorial race takes place on July 23rd. John was a regular competitor in the Lord Mayor of Raheny series and also supported the race organisers in the post-race preparations, before passing away in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entry Fee is \u20ac7 per race or \u20ac50 for the series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prizes are awarded in all age categories with your best 8 races counting toward the overall series prize.<\/span><\/p>\n

The summer series of races finishes on Tuesday September 5 with the \u201cJim Wall Open Handicap road race\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
