The 2020 AXA Raheny 5 is now just over two months away and as such our plans for this year\u2019s race are well underway.<\/p>\n

The race is now the biggest road race in the country and has got to this level through 35 years hard work by a dedicated and committed working group within the club.<\/p>\n

The Raheny 5 is the main race promotion of the Club\u2019s year, attracting senior and international athletes and runners of all levels and abilities from across the country, allowing our club Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club to proudly promote and showcase our home of Raheny village.<\/p>\n

As such I ask that you, our members, help to contribute to the continued growth and development of the Raheny 5 as we head for this our 36th consecutive hosting of the event.<\/p>\n

Again in 2020 we expect over 5,000 competitors to take part in the race on the last Sunday in January. Over 100 stewards will be required, a figure I believe we can easily achieve from our membership.<\/p>\n

We are required to provide stewards to work with An Garda Siochana and other authorities to ensure the race takes place in the best spirit and continues to promote Raheny and Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club as one of the most welcoming and supportive areas and clubs in the country.<\/p>\n

We will be updating you, our members, on the progress with this year\u2019s Raheny 5 over the next few months.<\/p>\n
