Niamh Corbett won the Leinster Intermediate Cross Country title with an exciting sprint finish to beat Emily Grennan of Tullamore Harriers by two seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was a very encouraging and exciting day for Corbett and the women\u2019s team. Orla Gilheany 19th<\/span><\/sup> and Sinead Currie 21st<\/span><\/sup> produced strong runs.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was no medal unfortunately has the team had no fourth scorer, though laying foundations for a strong follow-up through 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Masters Women race, Sarah Quigley finished fourth overall, taking bronze in the 0\/40 category. Combining with Zoe Quinn (23rd<\/span><\/sup>) and Louise Keogh (45th<\/span><\/sup>) the team finished eighth. Also performing strongly was Rachel Ormrod.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Masters Women 50 category, Jenny Colbert finished fifth and Patricia O\u2019Cleirigh ninth.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Men\u2019s Intermediate team captured a very successful silver with Robert Frewen eighth, Brian Sexton (15th<\/span><\/sup>), Joe McCracken (17th<\/span><\/sup>) and Martin McKenna (18th<\/span><\/sup>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The men\u2019s team captured silver with 58 points five points clear of Tullamore Harriers. Mullingar Harriers won out with 39 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graham O\u2019Dwyer was unlucky not to make the scoring team after a very successful run to finish 22nd<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Leinster masters championship Des Kennedy finished fourth overall taking gold in the O\/50 category.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Men\u2019s O\/35 team took silver, led home by Brian Leahy (ninth), Ian Conroy (10th<\/span><\/sup>), David Kirwin (13th<\/span><\/sup>) and Ian McConkey (19th<\/span><\/sup>).<\/span><\/p>\n

There was also silver for the Men\u2019s O\/50, Kennedy first place O\/50 combined with category places of Mick Boyle (fourth) and Mick Gygax (27th<\/span><\/sup>) gave the team a total of 32 points, level with Mullingar Harriers as the mainlanders took gold on countback.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also competing were Mick Kehoe (79th<\/span><\/sup>), Gary Aylward (81st) and Donald Quinn (90th).<\/span><\/p>\n
