Lusk village went into lock down today to welcome all to a great days racing for both adults and children.<\/span><\/p>\n

The day started off with a selection of children\u2019s races followed by the 3pm kick off of the now annual four-mile road race.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lusk four-mile road race now in its 3rd<\/span><\/sup> year has grown from strength to strength and so has the numbers attending.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tricky two lap course with some added wind gave spectators a great opportunity to cheer on both the local athletes and the visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

From a club perspective it was the women taking to the podium on this occasion. Kate Purcell taking first place in the women\u2019s race and Sarah Quigley Followed in third place. <\/span><\/p>\n

Shane Ryan showed his strength with a fifth place overall and first Junior and hot on his heels was Ciaran McCarthy in sixth place.<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 43 Shamrocks toed the line and all helped the club win the mixed team event and a cheque of \u20ac300 made out to the Club was presented to our top 4 combined athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well done to Lusk A.C for creating a great atmosphere and music along the route. With a Goodie bag, Medal, Tee shirt and post-race refreshments what more could a runner ask for it.<\/span><\/p>\n
