It was another action-packed weekend on the racing calendar, with club members competing from Thursday through Sunday across track, road, beach, half marathon, and marathon events. From podium finishes and category victories to championship performances and marathon completions, there was plenty to celebrate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Thursday: Strong Start at Dunboyne Track
\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
The weekend began on Thursday evening at the Dunboyne 5,000m Track event, where\u00a0Gerard Fay<\/strong>\u00a0continued his impressive run of appearances, clocking\u00a024:23<\/strong>\u00a0over the 5,000m distance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Friday: Success on the Sand at Portmarnock Beach 5km
\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
A large club contingent headed to the Portmarnock Beach 5km on Friday evening and returned with a host of excellent results.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Leading the way was\u00a0Anthony Eames<\/strong>, who produced a superb performance to take the overall victory in\u00a016:42<\/strong>. The podium success continued in the women’s race, with\u00a0Annette Kealy<\/strong>\u00a0finishing as 2nd lady in\u00a019:29<\/strong>, while\u00a0Zoe Quinn<\/strong>\u00a0secured 3rd lady honours with\u00a019:50<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
There was also a category win for\u00a0Dave Feeney<\/strong>, who claimed 1st O60 with an excellent time of\u00a023:11<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The event saw strong performances throughout the field, highlighting the depth and strength of the club squad.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Saturday: Leinster Championship Action at Tullamore Half Marathon
\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
Saturday’s focus shifted to the Tullamore Half Marathon, which also incorporated the Leinster Half Marathon Championships.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The club was well represented with a string of impressive performances led by\u00a0Robert Frewen<\/strong>, who crossed the line in a superb\u00a01:14:09<\/strong>. He was followed by\u00a0Eoghan Wrafter (1:20:27)<\/strong>,\u00a0Colm Dunne (1:20:36)<\/strong>,\u00a0James Roddy (1:21:05)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ian McConkey (1:22:05)<\/strong>, all recording strong championship times.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
There were further excellent runs from\u00a0Terry Keogh<\/strong>,\u00a0Francesco Petroni<\/strong>,\u00a0Eric Champ<\/strong>, and\u00a0William Walsh<\/strong>, while\u00a0Elaine McNulty<\/strong>,\u00a0Orla Gilheaney<\/strong>, and\u00a0Lisa McCarthy<\/strong>\u00a0led the club’s women’s performances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Special mention goes again to\u00a0Gerard Fay<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Angela Charlton<\/strong>, who added another race to what would become a very busy weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Sunday: Marathon Challenge in Longford
\n<\/strong><\/div>\n
The weekend concluded with the\u00a0Longford Marathon<\/strong>, where\u00a0Gerard Fay<\/strong>\u00a0completed his third event in four days. After racing on the track on Thursday, the beach on Friday, and the half marathon in Tullamore on Saturday, Gerard finished the marathon in\u00a04:55:25<\/strong>, showing tremendous endurance and commitment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
