{"id":4399,"date":"2021-03-05T15:57:42","date_gmt":"2021-03-05T15:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=4399"},"modified":"2021-03-05T15:57:42","modified_gmt":"2021-03-05T15:57:42","slug":"becker-performs-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=4399","title":{"rendered":"Becker Performs In Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>History was made on Friday morning as Sophie Becker became the first Raheny Shamrock Athlete to compete in the European Indoor Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Becker finished in a very commanding third place in the second heat of the 400 metres on Friday morning, finishing in 53.23 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The race was won by Irini Vasiliou of Greece in 52.76 seconds with Lithunaia\u2019s Agne Serksniene second in 53 seconds, both automatically qualifying for the semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>Becker\u2019s time was not enough to qualify for the semi-final as a fastest loser, but a very impressive performance and big effort.
