{"id":4494,"date":"2021-05-29T22:35:07","date_gmt":"2021-05-29T22:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=4494"},"modified":"2021-05-29T23:01:18","modified_gmt":"2021-05-29T23:01:18","slug":"kearney-sets-new-club-1500m-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=4494","title":{"rendered":"Kearney sets new club 1500m record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Niamh Kearney set a new club 1500m record at the Irish Milers club meeting in Belfast today rewriting the oldest club record.<\/p>\n<p>Kearney clocked four minutes 19.92 seconds for second place behind Carla Sweeney of Rathfarnham who clocked 4:17.57.<\/p>\n<p>Kearney now writes herself into the history books breaking Kathryn (Moroney) Davis near 50-year-old record of 4:22.2 (hand timed) set on June six 1971 in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>A big day for Kearney with a record run which has been tipped by a number of top class runners over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sophie Becker posted a new club record of 52.32 seconds when she finished second in the women\u2019s 400m behind Phil Helay who won out in 51.50.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Cillian Kirwan set a new personal best of 1:47.59 in the men\u2019s 800m A race, just point 09 seconds off the club record. The race was won by John Fitzsimmons in 1:46.53.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte Wingfield won the women\u2019s 200m B race in 25.06 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Dylan O\u2019Brien posted 4:19.37 in the men\u2019s 1500m C race. In the men\u2019s B 400m Oisin McCorry clocked 49.87 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>While Susie O\u2019Flynn took fourth place in the women\u2019s 800m B in 2:13.79.<\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button
