{"id":5294,"date":"2022-01-09T23:26:58","date_gmt":"2022-01-09T23:26:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5294"},"modified":"2022-01-09T23:26:58","modified_gmt":"2022-01-09T23:26:58","slug":"solid-start-from-mens-and-womens-teams-in-indoor-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5294","title":{"rendered":"Solid Start from Men&#8217;s and Women&#8217;s Teams in Indoor League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Raheny men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams made solid starts to the national indoor league after day one in the national indoor arena.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s team finished in sixth place with 45 points, Charlotte Wingfield taking second place overall in the 200m\u2019s in 24.92 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy Barrett finished third in the 800 metres in 2:21.05. Katie Flanagan Walsh collected an important three points in the 60m posting 8.71 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The 4x400m relay team of Lucy Barrett, Caroline Kavanagh, Emer Sheridan and Sophie Becker finished in sixth place overall clocking 4:21.22.<\/p>\n<p>Helen Buckley took fifth place in the shot put with a best of 8.96 metres. Kim O\u2019Hare finished seventh in the long jump with a best of 4.67 metres.<\/p>\n<p>That gave Kay Bannon\u2019s side a total of 45 points to finish in sixth place going into the second round. The top eight make the final.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s team took ninth place overall, three points off eighth place heading into the second round.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Smyth took victory and 12 points in the 200 metres with a best of 21.33 seconds when winning heat three.<\/p>\n<p>Conor Flanagan collected 10 points with a best of 3.20m in the pole vault.<\/p>\n<p>The 4x400m relay team of Conall Rogers, Luke Murphy, Michael Tierney and Cillian Kirwan collected three points. Ethan Banks posted 7.89 points in the 60 metres. Banks doubled up to claim an important two points in the long jump with a best of 4.85 metres.<\/p>\n<p>Conall Rogers collected seven points in the 800 metres. Captain Mick Hynes collected three points with a throw of 7.52 metres in the shot put.<\/p>\n<p>Hynes side are ninth overall heading into round two. The top eight make the final.
