{"id":5314,"date":"2022-01-16T20:35:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-16T20:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5314"},"modified":"2022-01-16T20:35:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T20:35:00","slug":"smyth-gets-ireland-dna-call-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5314","title":{"rendered":"Smyth Gets Ireland DNA Call-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mark Smyth has been selected on the Irish team for the new DNA meet in Glasgow next month.<\/p>\n<p>Dynamic New Athletics or DNA is an innovative, team-based competition concept for athletics created by European Athletics to complement the classic athletics format which will be held at the Emirates Stadium in Glasgow on February 5th, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Ireland will be taking on teams from Scotland, England, Wales, Spain and Turkey across 11 track and fields to gather points to decide their position going into the decider event \u201cThe Hunt\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Smyth has been selected to take part in the mixed 2x2x200m relay.<\/p>\n<p>DNA integrates modified rules, presentational possibilities and digital communications elements that can be adapted for every level of the competition pyramid while remaining true to the essence of athletics. Key features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mixed gender teams.<\/li>\n<li>A compact programme of interchangeable disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Head-to-head competition in the field events with every attempt counting towards the team match score.<\/li>\n<li>Team match results remain open and unpredictable until the final competition discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button
