{"id":5545,"date":"2022-04-09T22:18:31","date_gmt":"2022-04-09T22:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5545"},"modified":"2022-04-11T23:25:21","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T23:25:21","slug":"college-medals-for-raheny-athletes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=5545","title":{"rendered":"College Medals For Raheny Athlete&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A number of club athlete\u2019s collected medals at the Irish University track and field championships over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Niamh McCorry collected gold in the pentathlon with a total of 2805 points clear of Louise King\u2019s 2608 points.<\/p>\n<p>McCorry landed victory in the shot put with a best of 10.88 metres. McCorry took second place in the high jump with a best of 1.50 metres and the 800 metres in 2:40.75.<\/p>\n<p>Niamh Fogarty took gold in the discus in a new TUS record of 51.17 metres just short of the Irish university record.<\/p>\n<p>While Daniel Stone took bronze in the 10,000 metres clocking 30:47.77 some six seconds behind his DCU team mate Sean O\u2019Leary. Thomas Devaney took gold in 30:36.62.<\/p>\n<p>On day two (Saturday) Mark Smyth of DCU took silver in the 100 metres posting 10.72 seconds. Israel Olatunde took gold in 10.50 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Smyth with Michael Farrelly took gold in the 4&#215;100 metres as part of the DCU team clocking 41.23 seconds with NUIG second in 41.65. Sean L\u2019Estrange was part of the bronze medal Trinity team who clocked 41.94 seconds.<\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button synved-social-button-share synved-social-size-16
