The race was won by the Olympic 1500m and World 5000m champion Jakob Ingebrigsten in 13:21.13. Silver went to Spain&#8217;s Mohamed Katir in 13:22.98 and bronze to Italy&#8217;s Yemaneberhan Crippa in 13:24.83.<\/p>\n<p>Fay&#8217;s performance was the best by an Irish man in the European 5,000 metres since Mark Carroll in the same stadium 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>A brilliant performance by Fay which made all of Raheny and Ireland proud.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button
